Pickin'

Thanks for the fun idea, Jennifer! We had a great time but bought WAY too many strawberries. I am now the proud purveyor of strawberry bread by the pound- stop by for a slice! Caden also enjoyed picking from my belly, although I didn't enjoy bending down so much. I am not cut out to work the fields, that is for sure!

In other news, Matthew's superhero dreams have been accidentally dashed. Our beloved TIVO recorded Spiderman 2 for us and we have been letting the kids watch the spidey parts that boys love, and skipping the scarier scenes. Ethan has been cracking us up with his running commentary; as Spiderman and Doc Oc are entwined falling down a skyscraper and it doesn't look good for Spidey, Ethan pipes up, "oh, that's not good." And as MJ kisses her fiance, another comment, "oh, gross." It's just not going to come across on the blog as funny as it was in real life, but trust me, much laughter abounded.

At bedtime, Scott told the kids to remember it was just a movie, that it wasn't real and that they could go to bed without any cares or worries about Doc Oc and the like. Matthew said, "But Spiderman is real!" and without thinking, Scott said, "No he's not!!" The shock at that realization was horrifying to Matthew. He was so certain Spiderman was somewhere out there saving the world. This made Scott feel awful, because he didn't realize that Matthew actually believed that Spiderman was real. We'll add a few more dollars to the therapy jar for him for the night Daddy crushed his superhero dreams.
